International Sight Restoration, Inc. (ISR) is a 501(c)3 non-profit eye bank that helps restore eye sight to men, women and children around the world,who are waiting for corneal transplants. ISR partners with many EBAA member eye banks within the United States for our fight in Helping The World See®. ISR works with surgeons and hospitals not only in the United States but on a global level. Due to the widespread need, some international patients are expected to wait years to receive a corneal transplant. Some children will remain without sight throughout their lives because tissue was not available to them, when needed. The cultures of most countries prohibit donations, contributing to the already long waiting list .
International Sight Restoration fights blindness locally by providing U.S. citizens with ocular tissue that was carefully procured and we fight blindness internationally, through the exportation of human corneas to many third world countries that rely on the generosity and altruism of the donor families in the United States. |
